"If you would understand this secret, you must first understand
the distinction between training an animal and educating one.
Trained animals are relatively easy to turn out. All that is required is a book of instructions, a certain amount of bluff and bluster,
something to use for threatening and punishing purposes, and of course the animal.
Educating an animal, on the other hand, demands keen intelligence, integrity, imagination, and the gentle touch, mentally, vocally, and physically."
J. Allen Boone, Kinship With All Life
My first book Unicorn Farts is available on Amazon and is a nice introduction into clicker training and my philosophies
Horses will lead you to knowledge, it you will but listen.
My latest book will be released fall of 2023 on Amazon
Every time I have changed course in my training, it has been to seek a softer way of doing things, one that doesn't bring out my inner predator.
I have always tried to seek out a softer way because my own tendency is to be loud and aggressive
and I don't like that side of myself.
Gaining control over one's emotional state is
half the job of training the horse.
And the other half is understanding the horse.
And lastly, it is knowing what you need to train.
So here I am after some 35 years of training riders and horses coming to a new step in
my evolution as a horse girl.
We are all in our own stage of that evolution and I want to help you get to the best part sooner and with
out all the miss steps
and guilt about messing up your horses along the way.
Let's eliminate the trial and error and get right to the good stuff.
I offer clinics on my farm near the beautiful town of Smiths Falls with my well schooled clicker trained horses to give you a feel of how it can go. Like a good school master can teach you to ride, a good clicker horse can teach to click.
I also offer clinics off property. It is best to use on horse for two handlers. this gives everyone time to watch and time to do and time to think.
Send me a PM on Facebook and we can set up a date.
